What is #CET?
Chicas en Tecnología is an NGO that aims at closing the gender gap in technology by promoting, motivating, and training the new generation of innovator girls in technology and entrepreneurship.
Our goal is that teenage girls consider technology as an ally to fulfill various purposes, from thinking about technology as a means of expression to considering it a possible solution to an array of issues across their communities.
Sustainable Development Goals
On September 25, 2015, UN member states, together with citizens and NGOs, adopted a set of 17 global goals to ensure prosperity for all, as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
Each goal has specific milestones that are to be reached by year 2030.

Civil Association
We became a civil association!
#ComunidadCET
We generated a network of peers, ambassadors, and mentors to support our program grads. This network is open to them for as long as they want to participate. Girls get free opportunities to continue learning, both in person and through virtual platforms. This year, we completed several activities: we put together a career panel and a professions round table; learned how to use APIs to enhance PUMM applications; organized a talk event to understand the different areas within a technology team in a large business; carried out social activities for grad girls to meet each other and generate a network of support and friendship; conducted a startup workshop; and visited the Centro Cultural de la Ciencia (Science Cultural Center).
#ClubesCET
We launched #ClubesCET, an integral, free and open educational proposal, aimed at positioning young women as producers and creators of technological solutions with an impact on their communities. We expanded across the whole country!
The Voice of the Actors
We published the report “Las Voces de las Protagonistas” (The Voice of the Actors) with the aim of contributing to the related debate and education agendas. We also created a publication detailing the results of the latest two PUMM editions (2015 and 2016), based on the surveys completed at the beginning and at the end of the program by the 75 participant girls, who developed prototypes for 25 apps to solve a problem in their community.
We also inaugurated an area of research, development and innovation!
Outstanding Women
An event to give visibility to outstanding women in the industry triggered the idea of expanding the concept to generate visibility of other outstanding women in history (both present and past) who have been key for the advance of technology.
#PUMM4
The fourth edition of PUMM (Programando un Mundo Mejor, Programming a Better World) was carried out in Area 3, with the participation of 30 girls from both private and public schools. We also implemented a totally renewed and updated educational proposal for the Program.
Debate forum
Through a debate forum with representatives from the technological startup environment, the academic universe, and the public in general, including actors from the civil society, NGOs, businesses and universities, we launched the "Las voces de las protagonistas" report. We even got to be trending topic with #DatosCET! A special thanks to Gustavo Cucuzza, Agustín Porres, Yas García, Maria Teresa Lugo, Mariana Brandeburgo, Lalo Zanoni, Agustín Morad, Mercedes D'Alessandro, Melina Jajamovich for joining us, and all our colleagues who also contributed to thinking about and debating the results.
#PUMM5
We carried out the fifth edition of Programando un Mundo Mejor in Mulesoft, with 27 girls from 11 schools, who programmed solutions to solve problems such as the gender gap at work, missing people, and low performance at school, among many others.
Developers for Good
In this experience, the girls were mentored and supported by programmers and change agents to further develop their digital prototypes.
Women Programmers
Professional Profiles and Background
We started developing the first survey that gathers and systematizes quantitative information from educational institutions, technology businesses, and public entities across the country in relation to the presence and academic training of women in areas related to programming. Our Goal? To build an unprecedented open and public database in Argentina on this subject matter.
#PUMM6
We carried out the sixth edition of Programando un Mundo Mejor in J.P. Morgan with 30 girls from 10 schools who programmed solutions to solve problems such as the lack of integral sexual education, food waste and abandoned animals, among many others.

2018
In 2018, Chicas en Tecnología is committed to expanding their mission to the whole country, with the aim of motivating and promoting technological and entrepreneurial skills in teenage girls, building installed capacity through local ambassadors, and influencing communities, educational settings, and economies. In order to achieve this goal, we will continue developing #ClubesCET, #PUMM, #ComunidadCET, and talk events. We will also continue generating knowledge, and contributing to the public agenda with our research initiatives, data, publications, events, and media promotion. We will further the institutionalization status of the organization in order to ensure the quality and continuity of all our actions, which are always focused on increasing the number of girls who will be part of the next generation of innovator and entrepreneur women in technology with a social impact.
